/ Overview
The Rome atelier became an international reference point for the creation of wedding dresses. In 1960, Fernanda Gattinoni designed the famous collection of Empire style wedding dresses that helped to establish her name throughout the world. Also among her famous customers were
Golda Meier, Giulietta Masina, Mimise Guttuso, Eva Peron, Jackie Kennedy and Princess Margaret of England who caused a furore in 1961 when she wore Gattinoni pieces at Buckingham Palace (according to court etiquette, members of the royal family were forbidden from wearing pieces made by foreign designers).
